Art description:
The exhibition "Counterclockwise Circumambulation" (2004) at Lund Konsthall, was Sture Johannesson's first major solo exhibition even though he should be recognized as one of the most important Swedish artist of our time. The exhibition was an expose over more then 30 years of work with a starting point in the famous poster “Revolution Means Revolutionary Consciousness”.

Sture Johannesson produced psychedelic art that was angry and fundamentally radical. His controversial work was stopped and censored by the people in power and his carrier obstructed from the sixties onwards.
The exhibition included a hemp plant installation that would become destroyed.
Incident:
Three policemen came to the exhibition at Lund Konsthall and cut down and confiscated the hemp plants of the installation just days before the opening. This blunt act was authorized by the public prosecutor Britt-Mari Ströms but the accusations of drog crimes was later silently withdrawn.
Lund’s art hall manager Åsa Nacking said - “We sought and received permission from the State’s Seed Testing and Certification Institute, in accordance with directions from the police and the Board of Agriculture, to borrow plants from a farmer who has permission to grow them.”
Current status:
It was proven that there was nothing illegal with the plants and the accusations was silently withdrawn. Åsa Nacking then promised to restore the exhibition. But the culture director of Lund Steffan Skjöld said “It is not the arts job to try the law!”. Åsa Nacking then change her mind and the promise was never fulfilled... :((
Opposed by: The local police and local prosecutor, Britt-Mari Ströms
